My Music Journey

For me, music is not about virtuosity. It is about creativity, persistence, and the courage to communicate one’s inner landscapes. Many performers master the technical brilliance of playing other people’s music, yet never create anything of their own. I have always believed the true essence of being a musician lies in self-expression, self-actualisation, reflection, and remaining true to oneself.

Every piece I share here I did it on my own. In 2022 and 2023 I did two covers as exercise to give me confidence to write lyrics, chords, arrangements, recording, and production. But the most powerful part of the process for me is not only writing the music but also creating a visual narrative that embodies those feelings: building a storyboard, filming, editing, and producing the video. That complete cycle, bringing music and imagery together is a unique and profound pleasure that not many musicians can experience.

My journey began in the late 90s in Lima, playing with my best mate in a band called EVOPM, where he first taught me how to play bass and compose music. A few years ago, I started exploring the path of a solo musician, beginning with two cover songs as practice. Last year, I released my first original work, But Trust No No No, followed this year by my second production, Broken.

Each project has been a step forward in expressing my voice and building a body of work that represents who I am as an artist. This page is where I share that journey with you.

Broken – Official Music Video A raw, intimate journey through the unravelling of a relationship. Broken is more than a song; it’s a confession. It captures the moment when love stops being enough and silence grows louder than words. Through haunting lyrics and moody visuals, the video explores emotional numbness, restless longing, and the quiet pain of letting go. Love won’t pay the rent. Love won’t keep us together. Sometimes, the hardest thing to admit is that we’re no longer whole.

2024

In the depths of our lives, we often encounter moments that challenge the very essence of trust. 'But Trust No No' examines this intricate web of emotions, painting an emotional picture of the aftermath of broken trust within the family. The lyrics, crafted with profound introspection, serve as a vessel for the storyteller's journey through the tumultuous waters of betrayal and resilience. Each verse carries the weight of memories tainted by deception yet adorned with resilience and hope.

2023

Dive into the soulful vibes of my latest cover – a heartfelt rendition of The Beatles' timeless classic, ‘Not a Second Time.’ This musical journey is more than just a song; it's a canvas painted with the hues of life, capturing an experience etched in my heart over five years ago.

In the cosy realm of my musical reflections, I've harnessed the power of GarageBand to craft, mold, and breathe life into every note. The magic of recording, mixing, and editing all instruments unfolded right here in my creative sanctuary.

2022
I was playing in an underground band in Lima in the 90s. Since that, I had an idea that I was procrastinating for many years, in fact, two decades. My idea was to produce a song and a video clip. I am a very prolific writer but I started this challenge by covering a beautiful song from El Ultimo de la Fila, a Spanish band that I grew up listening. This song is about love and a relationship where the genders of the members are not specified. I decided to use two guys.
